A beachfront sanctuary. Built for practice.
A three-level pagoda with a 1,200 sq ft practice floor, built entirely from reclaimed local hardwoods. It sits right on the beach. You practice to the sound of the ocean. The jungle starts where the property ends.
The ground floor, what we call the Dharma Hall, is 1,614 square feet of tiled space, always cool even in peak heat. Good for workshops, gatherings, and ceremony. The second floor is what teachers remember: smooth polished hardwood, full of light, fully equipped with props. It has its own name here: "foot candy."
In 2003 we built a yoga shala and a small cabin on this beach. The shala took the longest: its size and its pagoda design asked for time and patience. Around it grew a self-contained ecolodge, with ethnobotanical gardens, permaculture grounds and, right behind us, Corcovado National Park, home to nearly 3 of every 100 species on Earth.
We've spent over two decades refining what it means to host a retreat well. That means trained staff who stay out of your way until you need them, delicious food made by local chefs with fresh, local ingredients, and a physical space that does real work on your students before class even starts.
"We support rainforest and ocean wildlife conservation projects. When you bring your group here, that's part of what they're supporting too."
Accommodation for up to 32 guests
Ten rooms, and flexible allocation based on group size and preferences.
Everything you need. Nothing to manage.
Every retreat package includes the following. You bring your program. We handle the rest.
All rooms for your group for the full duration of the retreat. Flexible allocation based on group size and preferences. Minimum 3 nights. Choose any length, subject to availability; 3, 5, 7 or 10 days make budgeting easy.
Three balanced, farm-to-table meals a day, prepared by our local chefs, with coffee and tea available throughout the day. Dietary preferences are accommodated. Alcoholic drinks are not included; wine, beer, and a selection of cocktails are available for purchase.
The entire 3-level pagoda is yours for the duration of your retreat. No other groups sharing the space. Full yoga props included.
A complimentary guided excursion to Río Claro, with lunch, for your whole group. A river walk through primary jungle that reliably becomes the trip's most talked-about afternoon.
We help coordinate your group's local round-trip travel. Bringing a group to a remote jungle lodge smoothly takes experience, and we have it. Transfers by air, shuttle, or boat are quoted separately, based on the options you choose.
Our trained team stays on-property for the duration of your retreat, available to help with setup, transitions, and anything unexpected that comes up.

Worth knowing
We're remote by design. A 50-minute flight from San José, or a day's travel by road and boat. That distance is what keeps it quiet. But it does require participants who are comfortable with a real journey to get here. If your group needs easy accessibility or urban amenities nearby, we're probably not the right fit.
